Client Handover on Cloud

Editions: Free Cloud · Pro · Enterprise (coming in Console)

Status: Product spec is locked. Console Freelance Project is not live yet. Public pages: For Freelancers and Client Handover. Join the waitlist from those pages.

This is not a pricing plan. Cloud SKUs stay Free / Pro / Dedicated / Enterprise. This is not Console Partners (tenant-channel catalog).

Own Project vs Freelance Project

Mode Owner Who pays When to use
Own Project Your workspace You You host or manage for the client. Invite them as Admin.
Freelance Project Client workspace after accept Client They must own production. You stay Admin unless they change that.

Freelance Project is always client-owned. Managed work is Own Project + Teams.

Clock

  1. Day 1 — Freelancer creates a Freelance Project. Bounded sandbox (one project, low limits, no SLA, no paid add-ons). One 30-day trial clock starts.
  2. By Day 7 — Client signs in, reviews identity / plan / price / charge date / cancel terms, adds a payment method. They become Primary Owner immediately.
  3. Day 30 — First Paddle charge. Accept on Day 7 leaves 23 days. Accept never starts a fresh 30 days.

Ignore Day 7: sandbox freezes, public writes stop, data stays recoverable for a documented window. Re-invite does not reset the original clock without support.

Concurrent pending, unaccepted Freelance Projects:

Plan Slots
Free 2
Pro 5
Enterprise 20

Slot frees on client accept (or Day-7 freeze). Accepted work consumes client workspace capacity, not freelancer quota.

Paddle

Platform billing will sit on the workspace, not the SystemUser. Checkout custom_data will carry workspace and engagement IDs. After checkout, next_billed_at is patched to the original Day 30 (proration_billing_mode: do_not_bill). Overlay checkout cannot set remaining trial days by itself.

Cancel before first charge. After cancel, a documented grace then read/export.

After accept

  • Client = Primary Owner (billing + legal).
  • Freelancer = Project Admin (client may keep, downgrade, or remove).
  • Database and endpoint do not move.
  • Temporary freelancer credentials must be reauthorized; never copy personal secrets.
