External billing on a self-hosted project

A self-hosted Apito project does not include checkout, invoices, or a payment-provider catalog. Your app roles and permissions still work. Tenants still isolate data.

To charge your own customers:

  1. Model the records your app needs (orders, entitlements) as normal content models.
  2. Receive payment events with a project webhook or a function.
  3. Write the entitlement onto the user or tenant from that function.
  4. Enforce it with roles and permissions.

Apito Cloud keeps a maintained plan, subscription, and payment workflow for teams that want that inside the console. Self-hosted projects stay complete without it.
