SQLite vs MySQL for a small backend

sqlitemysql

MySQL is a database server. You install it, create users, and keep it running. SQLite is a library and a file. The application opens the file.

Use MySQL when several services already share one server and you want that shape. Use SQLite when one application owns the data and you do not want a database process.

Apito Cloud Free and Pro run SQLite. This page does not say Cloud runs MySQL. If you self-host the engine, check the current database notes in the self-hosting guide before you plan a MySQL deployment. The SQLite hub describes the Cloud path.
