PocketBase vs Supabase: two different backends
PocketBase and Supabase both get called “backend as a service.” They ship different things.
PocketBase is one Go binary. The database is SQLite. You run it yourself. The admin UI, auth, and REST live in that process.
Supabase is a Postgres platform. You get a hosted database, auth, storage, realtime, and a large set of client libraries. You can also run a Docker stack.
Pick PocketBase when you want one file-backed process on a machine you control. Pick Supabase when you want hosted Postgres and the client libraries that come with it.
Apito is a third shape. Cloud Free and Pro run SQLite and give you GraphQL and REST from one schema. The engine is open source if you want to run it yourself. It is not a PocketBase import and it is not a Supabase clone.
Read Apito vs Supabase if you are choosing a hosted API, and the SQLite page if the database file is the point.
